Mathletics

Mathletics is an after school club for 4th and 5th grade students who enjoy challenging themselves in math. Our Mathletics Team will meet every Thursday from 3:30-4:30pm to practice math skills and strategies, and then four times during the school year, we will compete against Mathletics Teams from other Park Hill elementary schools! These competitions are held from 4:00-5:00pm in various PH elementary schools. Parents are responsible for arranging transportation to and from Mathletics Team Competitions as well as picking up their child following our Thursday practices at 4:30pm from English Landing. The qualifying test will take place during the first few weeks of school, so please be on the look out for additional information!

Girls on the Run

The program is for 3rd-5th grade girls and it is not just a running club. The main focus of the program is character development. The mission of Girls on the Run is “We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experienced-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.” Using a well-researched curriculum, life lessons are taught through the use of fun interactive games combined with training for a non-competitive 5K event. Topics include: getting rid of negative self-talk, how to deal with bullying, gossip and peer pressure, nutrition, making healthy choices and much more. Girls on the Run will be meeting from 3:30-4:45 on Mondays and Wednesdays. Our season will run from September 10-November 16.
